UE Cell phone reporting tool is NOW ONLINE and ready to be used!

 

If you have a van and it either has no Cell phone or the cell phone is not useable because it is dead and has no charger or whatever please follow these instructions:

 

1. Notify Dispatch (they might say why are you telling us. Thats their problem! Our CBA says notify dispatch PERIOD, its the companys responsibility to educate dispatchers on the CBA). they have a IVR option where you just push a button if you have no cell.. THEY chose to turn it off!

 

2 . Complete this form for Documentation. When we walk into the grievance hearing or in front of the arbitrator and have this data its GAME OVER

Brothers and Sisters of UE Local 1077

 

A large number of you may have noticed a payment of $100 minus taxes listed as Settlement on your pay stubs today. We are excited to announce that this money stems from a Grievance that Union Steward Ron Russell of Needles filed on behalf of all drivers in California. The grievance was filed because we believed Hallcon Management falsified our time cards without our knowledge and put in lunches that may or may not have been taken. The company reached out to settle 1 week before a pending arbitration hearing on the matter. Working with UE Local 1077 President Laura Johnson, staff and lawyers we felt the best course of action was to settle the matter outside of Arbitration.

 

We knew we had a good case if it were to go all the way to Arbitration and we were willing to take it to Arbitration if necessary. However, we weighed the potential outcome through Arbitration and what was being offered in the Settlement and decided that the money the company would give was sufficient to make drivers whole.

 

318 drivers across the state of California were identified in this grievance settlement and received the $100. It took quite a while to settle this grievance but we are proud of the work that went into holding Hallcon accountable to us, the drivers. It shows that if we fight hard and keep the pressure on, we will get what we deserve.

 

We appreciate knowing you all stand behind us and continue to help us stay strong and unified going into our 2018 Contract negotiations. As we ramp up for our 2nd contract negotiation, members will be called upon to become part of our Contract Support Committee. In the coming weeks you will find out what that involves and provide you with the opportunity to become more involved with OUR LOCAL. Stay Strong and Fight on!
